Kinetic music is about bodies in motion. It is inspired by the study of kinetic sculptures, such as mobiles, in which there is a clear overall structure,
but it is one composed of numerous component parts that spin around each other and move within their own orbits. christopher spins heavily treated riffs and musical patterns through traditional song structures, and around the main melody, to create a shifting, kinetic effect. He calls this spinning, hypnotic effect a 'machine of sound'. In Phil Spector's 'wall of sound', by comparison, all the instruments blended into each other. In christopher's 'machine of sound', all of the parts are distinct and audible.
